I love drumming.. especially American Roots/ Swing/Jazz music ( I started when I was 5 on my dad's kit). I enjoy all kinds of music. I grew up in Lomita, California (South Bay) during the pre-punk era of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple through the first wave of punk. I joined Saccharine Trust at age 19 just after the release of their first record. Later on Joe Baiza, Ralph Gorodetski and I did the Mecolodiacs.i was in a band called Left Insane for a couple of years and toured with All. Dez Cadena and I started a band called Vida as well. Even after many tours over the next ten years w/ S.T., Black Flag, Sonic Youth and other SST Records bands I always came home to California, back to the ocean. I lived in Venice for awhile then Santa Monica and Ventura for the last 12 years. After moving to Ventura I put music aside for a few years to focus on raising my son. .
Eventually, I began playing a few local shows with blues players, then formed a rockabilly/jump swing band called The Lucky Sevens. We played the Derby in Hollywood regularly. For the last several years my main project has been The Phantom Riders, an instrumental surf/rock group ala Los Straightjackets/Slacktone/Man or Astroman etc. My latest groups are a whole different thing; The Park Bench Prophets play funk/groove-jazz in the vein of Charlie Hunter, Medeski, Martin & Wood and Galactic. Big River - a tribute to Johnny Cash, is alot of fun and it's getting a lot of attention.
