Guitar Lessons Santa Barbara

I began playing the guitar at age 14 and I studied with several teachers before I graduated from high school. Throughout my high school and college years I played with groups that focused on just about every type of popular music. These early experiences have given me a unique perspective on what is required to be an effective private teacher.After some classical training at the University of California at Santa Barbara I elected to graduate with a degree in Communication and Philosophy. I founded Anvil Guitar Instruction in January of 2003 and quickly decided to pursue a formal education in music. I enrolled in the GIT program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. MI is the world's premier school of professional recording and performing of contemporary music. The training I received there is unmatchable, I gleaned technique and inspiration from some of the greatest players in the world. After graduation in March 2006 I'll be teaching full time again.I am also enjoying success with my band Springtime is Wartime. We blend hard rock with funk grooves and odd time signatures. Our lyrics represent a spiritual mindset and Christian values. Our music is a bit technical but we usually get the crowds dancing. We often play at THE HARD TO FIND SHOWSPACE in Goleta, which is also where I teach.
