Jess, no less

In the midst of all the make-believe, madness, the mock-depravity and the pseudo-sexual anarchists

About Me

Choose life. Choose Red Rooster. Choose a turbo-coffee with eight sugars in a Lion King mug at five AM on a Tuesday, whilst walking in suburbian darkness.

FLICKR!

SHAFTESBURY RAMBLING CREW.

My Interests

I love iced coffees, the smell of launderettes and eating the little silver balls that are sold as cake decorations. I also enjoy long-pronged forks and drinking tea. Conveniently, and not-so-conveniently, I like politics and parties.

I'd like to meet:

Motivational people, yeah yeah yeah!!

Music:

Add me on soulseek; my username is ramblingam. Then you can see for yourself AND steal!

Television:

I don't own a TV and last time I went on TV Links I got addicted to America's Next Top Model and didn't leave the house for three days. I think it's best that I steer clear.

Books:

Haruki Murakami, Thomas Hardy, Philip Larkin, Iris Murdoch, Simone de Beauvoir, Hunter S Thompson, Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, Sylvia Plath, F Scott Fitzgerald, Roald Dahl, Milan Kundera, George Orwell, Jeffrey Eugenides, Sue Townsend (!), Paul Gallico (anyone who hasn't read a Gallico book should do so immediately - they are charming), Zadie Smith, Thomas de Quincey... And Enid Blyton.

Currently: Ulysses by James Joyce, and Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk (it's about time, hey).

Heroes:

Tintin and Hugo Chavez. And my mother, devoted cynic.

Shaftesbury

I went home this weekend.   The train journey between Brighton and Dorset is ridiculous; invariably delayed, long, boring and on rubbish South Western/Southern trains which don't have electrical ...

Cambodia

This photograph was taken on Occeuteal Beach, in Sihanoukville, Cambodia. About seven months ago now, that was life. I'd wake up, hot and in a small shack, and put my feet onto the sand floor. Walki...

Brighton

Brighton is salty and fresh.  I have met a lot of people that I like and I always find it pleasurable to be somewhere that no-one knows me when I walk down the street.  I have discovered lot...

Nicotine, valium... Cars.

I have had two 'random' vehicle checks in a week.  The Shastonian Policeforce are as keen as hungry beagles.  The first was on Gold Hill Fair weekend so can be explained away, but the second...

I am a rogue!

Today is Independence Day, and I certainly feel independent.  I even made myself a packed lunch.    I have little in the way of news.  My days are filled with being a rogue and tr...
