Quincy Smith, 20, was born in Monrovia, Liberia (West Africa) in 1987 and was raised in Flushing, Queens NY. At the age of 11 his family relocated to a suburb in Long Island NY called Hempstead. Quincy was always surrounded by musically talented people and grew up listening to some of the top know rappers in the industry during that time. Introduced to him in the early ‘90s were Black Sheep, Grand Puba, Kool G Rap and Jay-Z, to name the least, but it was The Lost Boys and DAS EFX that he sought interest in. Quincy is the youngest of three boys in his family; he fought twice as hard for recognition but was never really taken seriously. However, His older brother Cooly always kept and open ear to him and encouraged him with the guidance that only an older brother can give, it was this motivation and encouragement that would soon shape how Quincy was to evolve into the musically talented Q-Mac we all know today. In the early years, Cooly gave him his rap name “MAC†that will now always be respected by his peers and hated by others. Mac recorded his first track at home in his basement studio in 2003. Mac then later linked up with a young rapper from Farmingdale NY named S.O. Their sudden bond led to collaboration, from which then became the birth of The Block Knockers. Mac assumed position of CEO and Chief Engineer. After putting out his first album,†Year of the Block Knockers â€, everybody who’s everybody was now “Fiend-out†for Mac’s explosive bars and catchy lines that quickly flooded the County. In the start of 2007 he disbanded the group Block Knockers because of Music related issues with partners within the group and has really started focusing on him-self and not worrying about how people feel about his music. Recently he linked up with one of his close friends The Guyanese Prince (Errol). In the short time he has been a friend with him Errol signed him to his Organization Called Stick-N-Move Ent. The next project that he is working on is a mix tape called " Work In Progress ". Being the first gunner on Stick-N-Move Ent. He is the face as of now and has to show his skills at all times and perform better then his best and nothing less then. Mac’s main goal in life is to make music that people can vibe to and relate to, and possibly have an impact to inspire others to do their own thing and don’t follow a crowd to be known.
