I enjoy a wide variety of music but like most people of my age my head is probably stuck in the 70's.
That doesn't mean I don't buy records from the Here and Now.
My only hate is that depressingly cheerful music that always has a strummed guitar in the background.
'Why does it always rain on me...la de la...'
That sort of thing.
Here are some of my favourites...
Frank Zappa
I've loved this stuff since I was fifteen and just because he's dead doesn't mean I have to stop loving it now.
Tom Waits
The best songwriter in the world...EVER.
Ozric Tentacles
The original Space Cadets.
Dig out those early albums, use something herbal, then lean back and enjoy.
Jim O'Rourke
Doyen of the Chicago Post-Rock Movement.
His album 'Bad Timing' is a guitar masterpiece.
Ojos de Brujo
My current obsession.
Definitely Spanish but other than that hard to define.
Music to lift the spirit.
I love film though I don't like the cinema so much now.
There's nothing like people talking and munching nachos to break the mood.
Some of my favourites...
Once Upon A Time In America
Sergio Leone,Robert DeNiro,Ennio Morricone.
What more do you need?
Amores Perros
Devastating.
Things To Do In Denver When You Are Dead
I was Godzilla and you were Japan
Pulp Fiction
I could use a little foot massage...
Run Lola Run
Again...
Apocalypse Now
Smells like victory
The Wild Bunch
The best western...EVER.
Sounds pretentious but I don't watch it.
I'm lying.
I'm totally addicted to LOST.
