My name is Tonja Lynn, and I am an artist-photographer. I enjoy using my lens to express my art, and I like it best when I create a story and meaning in the image I shoot. As a photographer I work with light and shadow. I am metaphoric in my work and words, So with that being said...heres a little bit about me. Looking at my own image,(figuratively speaking) I see the woman I am, and how I look at life. The challenge to reach beyond my own limits and those that others have imposed upon me, accepting the shadows within, while defining the lights of strength, beauty, grace, and sensuality.
It may sound silly, but my camera has at times helped me to understand the "image of my life's journey." Learning to accept the sanctity of the light, the hell in it's darkness and moving beyond to see the "Big picture." It's about understanding that without shadow and dark, there is no shape or depth in the image, and with out the light, there is no image at all. As that applies with an artistic image, it also applies with the image of your life,(the big picture) which encompasses both Light and Darkness, Joy and Sorrow. The key to bringing that image to perfect exposure is the acceptance of both and learning from each. I want to capture in my mind and heart, the aura of the universe when I look at the ocean or sky, the shapes in the clouds, or the shadows in the waves as they crash on the shore, and most importantly, when I look into another's eyes...
MY PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
My photography experience goes back about 35+ years when I began my career working in a photo lab in Mobile, Alabama. I began retouching, or "spotting" and airbrushing photographs in a professional lab working with both "portrait studio" and "wedding" photographers from across the country. After 7 years there, I moved on, and began my work with a national photographic company, where I traveled and studied studio posing, lighting technique, and had the opportunity to work with many subjects and personalities of all ages and backgrounds. I began teaching and developing other photographers talents, as well as teaching others to train... "train the trainer". With all of that, I continued to develop my own talent as a restoration and print enhancement artist working with independent photographers retouching senior portraits and restoring old photographs. I was in heaven when photoshop was developed.

Boudoir photography includes not just "bedroom" backdrops, but in general sexy posing and "Pin Up" style themes as well. A womans form has inspired artists for centuries, and been admired by the masses for as many years. Today there are an increasing number of women who are looking to do those classy, artistic, intimate images to give as gifts to their sweet hearts, or simply to boost their own self esteem. As an artist of photography, I work with pose, shadows and light to enhance your best features. Above that, I can also use the tools of photoshop to "smooth" out those features that may not your best. In the past it has been said.."The Camera Doesn't Lie", but today it can be said that the picture can enhance the truth...and what super model hasn't done THAT?? ..

I WAS THE KIND OF CHILD, WHEN MY MOTHER TOLD ME "DON'T TOUCH THAT PLATE, IT'S HOT! I'D TOUCH IT ANYWAY, JUST TO SEE HOW HOT IT WAS. YEP...I AM A TAURUS. TODAY AS AN ADULT, IVE LEARNED DOING THAT COULD CLASSIFY ME AS EITHER A REBEL OR A LEADER, DEPENDING ON THE PLATE OR PERHAPS WHOS KITCHEN I'M IN.
I was raised military, (Marine Corps Brat) so I traveled a bit in my youth and grew up around a variety of cultures. I feel that has given me an open mind to accepting others beliefs and ways of life. I am intelligent, but far from genius and sometimes I am too honest. I am however inspired by those who are the same (intellegent and honest).
I can be brutally honest, and I admit to having a sarcatic sense of humor, (not always meaning to) so sometimes people don't know what to make of me. Once people get to know me, I am usually appreciated for my honesty,(both honesty with who I am and what I say).
I range from pretty serious to fun and carefree, depending on which way the wind is blowing. It is said that "a Pessimist complains about the wind, the Optimist expects it to change and the realist adjusts his sails." I'm border line optimist/Realist. We can't change the way the wind blows, but we can adjust our sails, and then expect our vessels to go in the direction we set, in which case we are still using the force of the wind.
I am strong in my beliefs and most of the time, a good judge of character. My greatest aspiration in life is to find a balance in security and adventure. Always being okay (if not happy with) wherever I am , as long as I have a mindset on positive growth. If I find I'm not OK with where I am... I will adjust my sails to go in a different direction. . ..

With that being said, finding your destiny, with peace and love in life requires the virtues called patience, and forgiveness. While every choice we make is deliberate, it may not always be the right choice, or made at the right time. Learning to forgive your self is key to the ability of forgiving others.
