Editorial Reviews
WNSU, Tim Stone, host of WNSU's nighttime local show
The funniest, most original, and tightest band Ive seen in a long time!
Tune Up, New Music, by Anthony Scorsone
Camel Toe has managed to pull together a sound that is unique! Finally, a band that doesnt sound like ten others. If you like fun, upbeat, funk-rock, delivered by a tight trio of prankster musicians, youve gotta check them out.
New Times, Sound Check, by Brian Hyman
Surf This, a standout single on their self-titled debut CD, is a two-and-a-half minute surf-inspired romp that has JP's guitar echoing Dick Dale in his prime, Doug White spitting satirical lyrics about surfers' territorialism, and solid drum playing holding the slam-danceable, laugh-out-loud track together.
The Musicians
JP Ferris' electric guitar rhythms lay the foundation for many of Camel Toe's get-up-and-dance tunes. JP's lead-guitar solos are blistering hot, and his whacked-out humor comes through loud and clear on the microphone.
Dean Vellenga's drumming prowess anchors every Camel Toe song with perfectly placed drumbeats, fills and cymbal hits. Dean's formal education in music, and his extensive playing experience in bands, ensembles, and theater productions adds a creative spark to Camel Toe's on-going writing and performing.
Robert Sherber has stepped in to crank up the funky low-end bass grooves that hold Camel Toe's funky jams together. Rob has toured with world-class musicians and performers, and is a great fit for Camel Toe's funk-rock antics.
Doug White, Camel Toe's original bassist and co-founder, has had to step away from performing with the band due to his medical situation, but continues to help manage the band, lend musical ideas, and is without doubt the band's number one fan.
