About Me

Wendy Goodwin’s musical gift simply refuses to be categorized. With a range that completely overshadows the ordinary musician, Wendy has it all. She can be:Sassy and sweet. Wendy draws from Celtic, Bluegrass, Classical and Jazz traditions to satisfy any musical bent. Matching her impressive violin chops with gentle vocals and intelligent song writing, Wendy skillfully weaves any style request into a dynamic package.Energetic and soothing. Behind the messy blonde hair and clouds of rosin rising from her bow, Wendy’s musical passion is unquestionable. Whether the sound is Mozart, Miles Davis or her own original music, Wendy’s performance mesmerizes.High-spirited and smooth. Goodwin’s sweet, soothing vocals are reminiscent of bluegrass great Allison Krauss, whom Wendy credits as one of her greatest musical role models. When fiddling, Wendy adds the resounding fire of “Stephane Grappelli” style Django jazz to her already gifted renditions.Passionate and daring. Wendy’s first solo project, a collection of original music, debuted in the fall of 2007. The album, like the artist, is a blend of vocal and instrumental music intertwining Americana, Celtic, Jazz and Classical styles. Wendy highlights her versatility on Road Less Traveled performing with an eight-piece band as comfortably as she shares the spotlight with a single guitar or piano. Goodwin regularly plays with other artists throughout the Pacific Northwest, but can also be found playing in other parts of the United States and the world. She has added her unique style to numerous recording projects in a variety of genres.Other creative endeavors with Wendy at the helm include: Muse Chamber Ensemble (www.myspace/musechamberensemble) & her wedding and event company founded in 2002 called Effesenden Music (www.effesenden.com).
