I am from Chicago Illinois where I currently live and work. I am also the lead vocalist for the punk rock band The Mentally Ill. In 1979 The Mentally Ill released the infamously sick single "Gacy's Place". As shocking as it was demented, Gacy's Place became a cult classic and a much sought after collectors piece. In 1999, the Ill got back together and recorded several new songs to release in a new album called "Strike The Bottom Red". "Strike" was recorded in Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago and engineered by Steve Albini. In 2004, Jello Biafra contacted the Ill to put together a compilation of their music and released "Gacy's Place; The Undiscovered Corpses" on the Alternative Tentacles Record label. In 2007, The Mentally Ill were featured in the punk rock documentary "You Weren't There"....soon to be released on DVD. After the Chicago premiere of the film, The Mentally Ill headlined an after party show at the Beat Kitchen to a sold out crowd.
More to follow...........Stay Mental!!!!!!
