About Me

clever and resourceful misanthrope.

FLICKR

My Interests

film, farmers markets, narwhales, thrift stores, dance parties (especially while cooking), copy machines, pissing away green on vinyl, summers up north in the San Juans, back issues of Vogue from the sixties, manimals, photography, sleeping (freestyle), aesthetics, flowers (picking, smelling, growing, touching), baking pies in wood stoves, when people in a movie are watching a movie and then the movie itself turns into that movie, reading "The Dark is Rising" obsessively every winter and wondering if this time maybe it really is, the fact that most of the people in the places I wish I was in are living 9 hours ahead of me, Canadian and Polish accents, cannonizing the past

I'd like to meet:

tea and toast, 24/7

Music:

I want to be in a band that sounds like Sweet (a band that lives up to its name!). I listen to Oldies Radio. Also, The Beatles, David Bowie, Devo, The Kinks, Roxy Music, Donovan, The Velvet Underground, Talking Heads, Gary Numan, Silicon Teens, Simon & Garfunkel, Iggy Pop, The Troggs, Kraftwerk, Cat Stevens, The White Stripes, T. Rex, Leonard Cohen, Run D.M.C., The Who, and (Crosby, Stills, Nash &) Neil Young. And Public Enemy.

Movies:

Rushmore over and over and over and, Harold & Maude which means the world to me, True Stories: Talking Heads which is pretty much the only movie you'll ever need. Dead Man, The Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, Empire of the Sun, Help!, Amadeus, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Man from Snowy River, Velvet Goldmine, Human Nature, The Cable Guy, Midnight Cowboy, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Buster Keaton, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Hair, Black Cat White Cat, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

Television:

and Twin Peaks

Books:

The Lord of the Rings, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Adventures of Tintin, Helter Skelter, Weetzie Bat, Tortilla Flat, Agatha Christie, The Beach, The Dark is Rising series, D'Aulaires book of Trolls, and an awful lot of magazines.

Heroes:

Wes Anderson, Audrey Hepburn, David Bowie, Hal Ashby, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Dagmar van Osen

Keeper of the Eddystone Light
