About Me

The explanation of "Sir" Ryan (aka Proj-X)
The explaination of "Sir Ryan"
Knighthood is designated by the title Sir. Outside the Commonwealth, the title is respected but may carry less gravitas, and thus may or may not appear, for example, in the mass media and other publications. There are technically differing levels of knighthood, but in practice these are even more symbolic than the title itself today and thus only express the greatness of the recipient's achievements in the eyes of the Crown. Sir derives from the Middle French honorific title sire (messire gave 'mylord'), from the Old French sieur (itself a contraction of Seigneur meaning 'lord'), from the Latin adjective senior (elder), which yielded titles of respect in many European languages. The form sir entered English in 1297, as title of honor of a knight or baronet, being a variant of sire, which was already used in English since c.1205 as a title placed before a name and denoting knighthood. The title "Sir" was bestowed upon me by many, mostly friends, some aquaintances, as a form of respect, after witnessing, and hearing about my actions, as well as working with me, getting to know me, and learning about me. They felt I conducted myself with a certain code of behavior and/or rules that I live by, as well as in a very honorable way. Calling me "Sir" is a way of acknowledging this the same way a Knight may have been years ago. It is a nickname so to speak that many felt fit, and so it stuck. So I'm not officially a "Sir"... it's all in good fun, with a little truth and some good reasons behind it.
The explanation of "Proj-X"
The name, or nickname "Proj-X" derived from the name "Project X".... which was originally given to me upon joining the award winning funk rock band "The Soul Poets". "The Soul Poets" were a well established New York City/Long Island band, and winners or the Long Island Music Festival. The band was made up of many talented and professional musicians from the NY area. After playing in numerous bands and studying music in college too, I had basically went into a party phase between the ages of 19-23.... selling most of my equipment and giving up playing guitar. When the The Soul Poets looked to dig deeper into their roots, and get a harder edge, and get down to a family/friend oriented band, they solicited a talented but raw guitarist, me, to join them. With me being out of the industry for a few years and not playing, and "The Soul Poets" established. The singer and co-founder of the band Jimmy Dowd decided to call me "Project X".... basically signifying an experiement in the band. The experiment was a huge success, as I fit in perfectly, and rejoined my brother Bill ("The Reverand Was3") who I had played with in prior bands, and I also worked very well with Jimmy and the others. "The Soul Poets" then went on to play and record for many years with tons of success. My name quickly turned to "Proj-X" or just "X" for short as the band played all over the tri-state area and east coast. I still use and am known by this nickname to many.
The rest of "About Me"....
Ok, so here's the deal... this section is being filled in by people who actually know me... I decided that I had this myspace thing up for what now feels like forever, filled in my basics... got some of my good close friends, family, other friends, a few myspace friends, and also some "others" (lol) all on here on my friends list... but I hadn't filled out my ABOUT ME section... mostly because I just didn't take the time for all of it, and I didn't wanna write my own thesis. lol.
So I figured... instead of being like everyone else and summing ME up myself... I'll leave it to YOU! You people who know me. You people who are the outsiders who can see me for who I really am, not just what I wanna type about myself.
Here are some of the early responses...
"SOUL BURGEEEEEEEEEEER (S-to-the-O-to-the-U-to-the-L)!! ;) Damn goood guitar player and fun guy to hang out with!" -S.
"He's a sweet and saracastic person, and hes really hot which is always a great combination. He's always explaing himself to death just because he needs to make sure you really understand him..sooo cute. Anyway although I never heard him in person but I heard a couple of his songs, hes an amazing guitar player. Oh and watch out everyone he always trying to borrow a damn tree fiddy from me..." -N.
"He makes me laugh, all the time. He always knows how to make me smile when I am feeling down. He's kind and considerate and always thinks the best of people. He's cocky as hell and has really bad taste in women but he's still a sweetheart at the very core." -D.
Now come on... keep em coming... lol.
If you want to add anything "about me" to this section, then just send do me a favor and take the time to send me a message with a few sentences that you feel sums me up, or at least sums up SOMETHING about me, or tells something about me, or defines something about me, or even something you just relate to me in some way, or something you think about when you think of me. Whatever... just send it in a sentence, and I'm gonna put it up in my about me section... just want to fill in my about me section... with what's really me. If you don't know me that well, then if you got some memory or something that you think about me... that you wanna mention... that'll do too. Thanks, this should be interesting...
-Ryan
