About Me

LET'S GO SHARKS

April 17, 2008
: Before winning Game 5 at HP Pavilion 4-3. This is playoff hockey.
I was born and raised in Fresno , then moved to San Francisco five years ago. My only sibling is my older sister, who is my example of real world success, persistence, and understanding. Wit, sarcasm, and veiled insults are my preferred weapons for humor. A compilation of songs in foreign languages provides more satisfaction than the hits of Top 40. I write, hold a cue stick, and eat with my left hand, but do everything else with my right. I bite my lip when people do not show proper escalator etiquette. I love cloudy skies but I absolutely am not pessimistic. Whenever my cousins and I gather, we act like FOBs even though none of us were raised in the Philippines. It disheartens me when people cannot function without lyrics in their music. Blue is my favorite color, which is more apparent when you open my closet. I believe that everyone should work at least one year in retail or food service to appreciate the hard-working people in the service sector. I will rip you to shreds in Wii Bowling , but not in a real bowling alley. If you ask me if I have the time, I will look at my watch and politely say, "Yes." I love hearing people speak in foreign languages and trying to identify them. Even though it may be pouring outside, I refuse to allow wet weather to ruin my day. My favorite evening walks are during winter when I am bundled up in a jacket, scarf, and gloves. I think laughter is the shortest distance between two people . I tend to impersonate people as I tell anecdotes. While I am an extremely patient person, I can be impatient with someone's constant impatience . I refuse to allow the television to take over my life. Surfacing from the subway and being dwarfed by the buildings still brings a smile of satisfaction. You will never see going to a strip club because I do not like the idea of paying to get teased. I believe autumn and winter clothing are more fashionable than spring and summer clothing. A layer of plastic is peeling from my debit card because I have been swiping it too much. Constant whining makes me want to bleed from both ears. Due to prolonged exposure, I developed a sense for contradicting stories, lies, and fake personalities . The sounds of an erupting crowd and blaring horns in a hockey arena send tingles of excitement down my spine. I spent the majority of my life living in triple-digit summer heat, but can no longer withstand a few hours in such an oven. I am ashamed that our country is more apt to put a picture of a bird on currency than an African-American. Women who smoke are quite unsexy to me. The humming and seismic vibrations from a passing MUNI train relaxes me. I love that Sunday mornings in San Francisco neighborhoods--like Cole Valley, Noe Valley, and Fillmore--are filled with dogs socializing with each other as their owners do. I love any sport that makes you scream touchdown, scores, goal, gol, golaso, or but (French for "goal" as with the Montreal Canadiens.) I write nasty notes whenever someone blocks my car or driveway. One day, I will own a beagle and name him Milo .

Why, why, why?!

Why must you assume that I also want non-fat milk when I ask for "no whip" on my espresso drink? What part of double-tall, no whip, extra hot, toffee nut latte do you not understand? Eating whipped cr...

Another Fresno joke and the holidays. (Edit with "look at" rant.)

"Look at." As I was walking through Target in Tanforan, I couldn't help but wince numerous times. "Look at/it." I heard that six times within half an hour. Worse is that none of these in...
