About Me

Hello, we're the Liquor Snob , and we like to drink on occasion. For those who are curious, here's a little about our taste in alcohol.Beer: We love beer, from the lowliest can to the mightiest growler. Our favorite brands tend to be Northeast microbrews, because that's where we're from; Harpoon, Otter Creek, Wachusett, Long Trail, Gritty's, even Magic Hat (but we wish they'd stop putting those stupid rhymes on the bottle caps...it kills our buzz). Our other achilles heel is Guinness, and we're also suckers for Miller High Life and Pabst Blue Ribbon...go figure.
Wine: We tend toward the more well-known varietals like Merlots and Cabernets, but we've been known to swish the occasional Shiraz or blend. As you can tell we like reds, but we'll drink down the occasional white as long as it's chilled. Note: We hate glasses with stems. If you pour us wine, pour it in a rocks glass and you'll be our best friend.
Liquor: We tend toward the brown and yellow liquors, favoring whiskey (and whisky). Our whiskeys of choice tend to be bourbon - Jim Beam, Maker's Mark and Knob Creek - and our Irish friends from across the ocean, specifically Jameson and Bushmill. We currently don't know much about Scotch whisky, but we've never met one we don't like.
Cocktails: In our opinion, a drink should never have more than three ingredients, and that's counting ice. If you're confused, that means we like our drinks straight or on the rocks, or with one mixer. Note: we consider multiple kinds of alcohol to be one ingredient. Our current sole exception to the three ingredient rule is an Old Fashioned made with bourbon, which is the only drink we will accept that contains fruit.
