The Real Old Testament

About Me

We're an indie film, not a band. Imagine if camera crews from MTV's "The Real World" had been there to record the first stories from the Bible, and God, Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel et al had been willing to sit down for interviews and confessionals about their thoughts and feelings.

We improvised the movie with some of the best improvisers alive, including Sam Lloyd who plays Ted on "Scrubs". Check out our website and watch a couple clips: realoldtestament.com (the Covenant of the Circumcision is HILARIOUS, by the way, Sam as Abraham circumcizing his men is just classic!)

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.realoldtestament.com
Band Members: God, Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, "Snake", Abraham, Sarah, Lot, Lot's daughters, the Archangels Gabriel and Soupy, Jacob, Rachel, and a couple handmaidens.
Influences: The Real World Miami and Steven Ambrose's Undaunted Courage helped inspire the idea originally, but going further back a nod would have to go to Monty Python, Steve Martin, SNL, SCTV, the comedians of the Comedy Works in Denver, the denizens of Santa Monica's Second City and Bob Hilgenberg's funny funny improv workshop, every member of Mitch, and those totally funny people I forgot to include. And S'Nick. And Bob the dog. Oh our parents too. And everyone we ever went to school with. Really, our entire society has in many ways influenced us in ways we'll never know. And I guess you'd have to say organized religion has influenced us too. And agriculture. So many influences!
Sounds Like: A gopher scratching his forepaw (a little, anyway). It also sounds like a derailed train plowing into a bed of squash. That's what our friends tell us, which we don't really get, but they all say it.
Record Label: PCH Films
Type of Label: Indie

God's Blog - Day One

Got up feeling creative. Decided to create the Heaven and the Earth. Worked on Heaven first. I didn't have the slightest twinge of Creator's Block, everything flowed. Did the Earth this afternoon. ...
