About Me

Hello.
The Ringfinger story is simple. My name is Tracy and I used to sing in a band called Dahlia Seed. (RIP 1996) Around the same time I began recording solo material under the name of Ringfinger and released two different 7" singles. (a split 7" with love as laughter and one song for a lo-fi 7" comp on blue-tounge ) I have not released any music since Dahlia Seed broke up but I have finished mixing my first solo full length release as of early May and expect to self release it mid November 2007. LIMITED vinyl will be available from Magic Bullet 2/12/2008.
Working with new and older material spanning a decade, I began recording “Decimal” in 2002. All songs have been written by me but each track has since been passed along to friends to do what they please with it.
Enter an amazing list of talented friends who also happen to be members of Cave In, Denali, Dalek, Engine Down, Sunno))) / Jessamine, N. Lannon / Film School, Isis, and more.
To be fair, a few of the songs have been kicking around and collecting dust for nearly a decade so this record was actually 10 years in the making. And so was the born the title of my first solo full length release "Decimal".
dec·i·mal(ds-ml) n. 1. A linear array of digits that represents a real number, every decimal place indicating a multiple of a negative power of 10. For example, the decimal 0.1 = 1/10 , 0.12 = 12/100 , 0.003 = 3/1000 . Also called decimal fraction. 2. A number written using the base 10. adj. 1. Expressed or expressible as a decimal. 2. a. Based on 10. b. Numbered or ordered by groups of 10.
The End.
