About Me

Here's the scoop on me. I'm a father of 3 kids. That includes my daughter that's 15 and my son who's 11 and my little baby boy, JBrooks, born 4/23/07. Between coaching my boy's various sports teams and running to all the school and sports events, I'm spread pretty thin. It doesn't leave much time for rest and relaxation but from what I hear, that's part of the parenting job description. ;) I'm an avid sports enthusiast. Baseball is my preferred game of choice, but I love 'em all. Well, I take that back, I'd have to admit that I don't like soccer or hockey that much, but that's neither here nor there! :) I had forgotten how much I love the sights, sounds and emotion of football until I got back into coaching it two years ago. We took a group of 8 and 9 year old boys and turned them into State Champions, an experience I won't soon forget. As you can probably tell, as much as I enjoy(ed) playing sports, I love coaching and teaching kids even more. I've been coaching kids anywhere from the age of 4 years old to high school age since I was 18. That now accounts for over half of my life, which I have to admit I didn't realize until I started writing this. I'm one of those guys who 'works to play'. I like my job, but my LIFE exists outside of it. You probably won't catch me at work after 5:00pm very often 'cause I've got places to be, and in the end it's ONLY money!
Turned on by the opportunity to meet folks from all over. Plus, MySpace is a great way to pass the time at work(don't tell anyone) when I'm not busy. Hopefully Big Brother isn't watching!
I think I'm a pretty normal guy....although I'm sure that point is debatable. What is normal anyway? ;) .
Work in semicondutor industry as an engineer. Got there the old fashioned way.... I earned it.. No degree, just hard work and experience.....

My Interests

I love working with kids... I coach select Baseball, Football, and sometimes a little Basketball. It's awesome to teach a kid a new skill and then watch them internalize it and put it into action. On top of that, I absolutely love the idea of taking a group of individual young men and turning them into a single-minded, butt-kicking machine. I believe in working the kids hard but ALWAYS having a good time. I hope that they all learn that if you work hard enough for something it's always attainable.

In the interest of honesty in advertising, I've gotta delete my workout blurb that was here. I've been too busy, too tired and just too freaking lazy to get to the gym for a while. Hopefully one of these days soon I can motivate myself to get back to it. All the same, weekends are STILL made for resting and drinking cold beer!!! :-)

I'd like to meet:

John Wayne and or Marilyn Monroe or maybe Mickey Mantle...but then there's Babe Ruth, Satchel Paige, well hell.. any of 'em.... ;-)

Music:

I'm white boy deluxe however.......

Dig all kinds of music.
1) Grew up with 80's hair bands. Hate to admit it but they still hold a special place in my heart.

2) Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, MudVayne, Slipknot... All flavors of metal music along the way.

3) You'll also catch me trying to rap along with Mike Jones and 50Cent although I can never remember all of the words. Doesn't keep it from being fun trying.

4) Lastly I slip into the country music genre from time to time... Don't know for sure what happens there. I'm gonna say it's temporary insanity.

Movies:

Cry every time I see the following movies(and I'm not ashamed!):

1)The Natural(the tears start when he hits the homerun at the end. It's inexplicable)
2)Field of Dreams(fond of the scene where he get's to play catch with his dad)

Not tear Jerkers but some of my fave's with no re-watch limits(yet):

Seven
Clockwork Orange
Interview with a Vampire
Underworld - Kate Beckinsale 'nuff said
Gladiator
Garden State
Beautiful Girls(Timothy Hutton and Natalie Portman)
Office Space( I live this movie every day)

Television:

CSI - The Original ( watch the other but kind of resent the fact that they exist),Lost,ESPN

Books:

Like all kinds of books...Cut my teeth on Stephen King as a kid.Like the Vampire Chronicles with Anne RiceRead a book called Puppet recently that was excellent.Looking for a new author to capture my attention.

Heroes:

People that work hard to get what they want and won't take no for an answer.
