THE BIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE L.WILLIAMS II *THE 13TH DISCIPLE*
George L. Williams II was born on January 2, 1983, in Philadelphia, Pa to the parents of George L. Williams and Rose J. Jones. He was raised in Orlando, Fl by his mother, grandmother and sister while his dad was away in the navy. He was raised in church from the time he was 6 years old where he attended St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando, Fl until he was 11. His family then began to fellowship at The Way of Life Ministries in Orlando, Fl until the age of 17. During these years he grew up very lonely and isolated from the world. He grew up not understanding why he wasn't accepted in the world or why he didn't behave like the other kids his age. He always wanted to do for himself and help others without wanting something in return.
At the age of 17 he reached a turning point in his life, and started to hang out with the wrong crowd. He experienced everything that the world had to offer clubs, woman, weed and alcohol. In 2002, George and two of his friends went to visit his girlfriend, Jade Howard in Tampa, Fl. On the way back the driver fell asleep at the wheel of the car while George was asleep in the back seat. The car flipped several times off of the highway and landed upside down underneath the water in a swamp on the side of the highway at 3 in the morning. George woke up with water at his chest and still rising. His friends managed to break through the glass window and get him out before the car sank into the mud. They swam through the swamp and walked up the hill to the highway before the car eventually sank.
George began going back to church after this shocking event took place, but it was a struggle for him to get right with God because he had experienced so many pleasures of the world. He attended church and clubs while living for Christ and for the world.
In 2004 his grandmother, Charlotte Louise Williams passed away. During the ages of 21 to 22 he drew closer to the Lord by being isolated and having no friends. After being baptized through the word of God, he gave his life completely to Christ. This time with divine understanding of who he was in Christ and what he was commissioned to do before his mother even gave birth to him. Once he surrendered to God, the gifts in this young man started to be made manifest.
One night he and a couple of his friends went to the A.K.A. Lounge, a poetry lounge where he was exposed to the art of spoken word. After seeing the art of spoken word that night, he decided to sign up on the list a couple of weeks later to speak. When he spoke that night it was not him speaking but God speaking through him. His words were convicting, powerful, and moving. When he got done people were shocked at his message, because he was so young and he didn't dress like a preacher. Once he saw how it moved people and touched their hearts he went before God and asked him to open up doors to minister through his gift of spoken word.
Through much fasting, prayer and isolation God birthed in him many new poems. He is currently working on a spoken word CD entitled THE BAPTISM OF A POET. The title comes from the death of his flesh in the swamp his car flipped in and the birth of his spiritual life when he walked out the water with out a scratch on his body.
Through the art of spoken word he has been baptizing youth all over the state of Florida. He has performed at the University of Central Florida’s Gospel Fest, Praise Party in Sarasota, Fl and The Red Ribbon Festival for Drug Awareness week in Orlando, Fl. He won his first Poetry Slam Competition in Jacksonville, Fl in 2007. He is currently saving money to attend seminary school. After completing seminary school his plans are to start a street ministry to minister to youth in urban areas and feed the homeless. His mission is to baptize young people through the art of spoken word and bring them to salvation through JESUS CHRIST!JAMES 4:4 A FRIEND OF THE WORLD IS AN ENEMY OF GOD!!!!
