Influences: Old soul music. If you don't know, get up on it. Most of your favorite hip hop records are based off samples from old soul records. Artists like Al Green, Luther Ingram, Barry White, Anita Baker, EWF, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Betty Wright, Percy Sledge, Bobby Womack, The Temptations, The Miracles, The Moments, etc. Artists who really made music from the "soul".
Rappers who were original and made music for self expression instead of money like: 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., RUN DMC, Jay-Z, Nas, De La Soul, etc.
Currently very few artists out there still remain real in the industry, but artists like: Common, Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Little Brother
