Finn MacCool is a Celtic Fusion band based in Los Angeles California. Instruments include Bouzouki, Bass, Pennywhistles, Fiddle, Djembe, Doumbek, Acoustic & Electric Guitars and Vocals. Peter McGowan, a native of County Cavan Ireland, formed the band in 1996. Marta Collier, David Williams,Reid DeFever and Andrew Everson complete the line up. The bands CD Sherdhana's Hand is available below and includes guest appearances from Howard Leese (Heart) Stuart Smith (Heaven & Earth) and Liz Knowles (Riverdance) The band fuses Celtic melodies and rhythms with African and Latin rhythms. We wanted to write a song that would stand as an anthem for our new project, Art Will Save the World", a song that would emphasize our commitment to raising awareness of global humanitarian issues through the arts. For the lyrics, we decided to weave quotations from some of our greatest inspirations through the song. You will find Gandhi, Jesus, Buddha, Anne Frank and Helen Keller represented here.As we wrote the song, we realized that we wanted to use it in the service of Barack Obama's presidential campaign, as we believe strongly that he is the right candidate to bring America into a brighter future.The chorus is a repetition of our personal commitment to our beautiful planet and the people who live on it, a commitment to give and to serve, and to do so with love, hope and faith.Won't you join us?
