Break Free live at Bath Invention Studios - 17.02.07
Tijuana are a true Glastonbury band and have come a long way since the beginning of 2006 when a management team came on board. In the summer they featured in FHM magazine, they were asked by MI5 whistleblower, David Shayler, to write a song about 911, they've had rave reviews by the BBC being described as "the best un-signed band everâ€, they've recorded a 4 track EP at the Handsome LLama Studios which is selling well, they were chosen to head the Avon and Somerset anti-knife campaign and wrote an anti violence peace song, have been on Orchard FM, have done a live interview and session on BBC Somerset Sound with more to follow…
2007 has already seen them as headliners at Bath’s Wine Vaults and they have secured a slot for the special ‘My Space Valentines Bash’ at Bath's Invention Studios , they recently headlined the 'Somerset Showcase' at Pilton in front of Michael Eavis. They’ve been offered slots at this years Sunrise Festival, the Big Green Gathering and the Lynmouth and Lynton Festival.
They were main support for Blackbud at their sell out Glastonbury show in the summer of 2006 and were given a residency at Moles in Bath when the U18 gigs still ran.
They have gigged for Midnight Mango and are joining Babyhead as main support at The Bridgwater Palace in March.Tijuana are a very hard working, serious and friendly bunch of lads and just may be the first Glastonbury band to make the big time, hopefully opening the door for the multitude of other local talent that Glastonbury has to offer the world. Being heavily influenced by Rage Against the Machine and the Chilli Peppers both politically and energetically, their live show is contagious.
