I competed at two shows Fall 2007, The OCB War for The Sword on Sept 22nd In Pittsburgh, PA (2nd place Men's Open Bantamweights) and The ONBF Natural Ohio On October 20th in Heath Ohio (1st Place Men's Open Lightweights and Best Poser). I'm taking 2008 off from competition to heal up some nagging injuries and see what I can do in the terms of improving for 2009. This is also simply known as the "I'm getting older" bit and I don't heal as quickly as I used to!
For anyone interested, I'm also a huge sports fan, video game connosieur, avid collector of swords of all varieties, and a hopeless anime addict... yes, I am truly a huge musclular geek.
I've recently resumed activites with the SCA (The Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc). I was involved many moons ago and have been lured back to the fold. I guess you never really stop being a SCAdian. I'm currently a member of The Incipient Shire of Ballachlagan and acting as it's Webminister. To check out the site and information about the shire, please go to http://ballachlagan.org/.
UPDATE: Summer 2006 started a long road for the Bednar household. Logan has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and his chemotherapy will be on going for some time (we went over a year as of July 31st, 2007). For those wondering about his current condition, he's doing very well, just a little weak. We are currently in the maintenance phase of the chemo, and the Doctors are trying to push the cancer down so far that it won't relapse. I've also been gving Logan doses of the anti oxidant beverage, Xango, and it's been helping tremendously. His progress progressing as expected and hoped. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Debbie Green 5K Run/Walk for Leukemia, but it is an annual race held in Wheeling WV by local resident Ron Green in memory of his sister Debbie Green who lost her courageous battle with Leukemia in April of 1972. Ron was too young to feel helpful at that time, and now holds the race to benefit local children with leukemia that need love and support, just as Debbie did years ago.
This year, another local family suffering from Leukemia will be honored and helped by the this ambitious event. Our family plans to make the race a staple event every year to support local families going through what can be a very difficult time.
Pictures, Results and information about the race can be found by clicking below.
