I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

--In a profile, I prefer words over pictures, in a film I prefer images without words....
--I am an idealistic, atheist, utilitarianist, socialist-leaning, cynic who believes in population control and school uniforms. I also welcome arguments. Especially from libertarians, those bastards :)
--I am an INTP, for those that follow Jung's personality types...
--I long to be taken seriously except when I am taken TOO seriously
--I always cry when I listen to the soundtrack from "Harold and Maude"...
--I would find it easier to discuss my innermost secrets with a stranger than to make small talk with them
--I have no patience to talk about the weather unless you want to complain about the sun and/or wind
--I find it very satisfying to explain anything at all with the perfect analogy
--I believe my face to be a walking Kuleshov effect and I will befriend anyone who understands what I mean when I say that...
--I don't believe in any god or gods defined by a religion
--I believe science can answer anything, even if we aren't smart enough to use science to that capacity
--I am addicted to playing online Scrabble
--I love taking walks early or late through typically busy places when they are empty...
--I ache to own a basset hound
--I can't roll my tongue, whistle, or snap my fingers, which astounds people for some reason
-- I can, however, do a one handed cartwheel
--I am mostly a slob, though I do have an organized system to my mess and I will notice if anything is moved ...
--I have the rare gift of remembering all names and faces of everyone I've ever met in my life, no matter how significant they were to me
--I constantly pick society and behavior apart, not just because I'm judgmental, but because I am fascinated by the evolution of cultural norms and how they come to be
--I am extremely over sentimental and save everything, even what brings back bad memories
--I am one of those people who are always excited to tell everyone the vivid details of my dreams no matter how uninterested they are.....
--I fast forward the action sequences in most movies
--I do not believe in predetermined fate or other fantasies that help make my life seem more glamorous or mystical
--I am very entertained by conspiracy theories and forming my own out of both amusement and paranoia...
--I have kept a private journal since I was 7 years old which is why I am able to write more than I talk
--I don't consider it endearing or cute to be "easily amused" but I do respect finding joy in simplicity (they are, in fact, two different things)
--I enjoy quoting Seinfeld in situations where I see fit, even if its just to myself...
--I absolutely dread making small talk with hair stylists
--I cannot understand a person who claims to have no interest in POLITICS, as if it's some hobby or club that leaves you alone when you aren't actively involved...
--I love logic, which sounds boring but it's really not for it can supply many answers or open your eyes in some way without having to resort to the ever DULL yet popular "Everything happens for some fate filled reason" phenomenon...
--I am hesitant to trust people who have a shitload of best friends...
--I have a hard time outwardly showing people that I care
--I hate the word 'boring' because really it's just a lazy way out of coming up with a better word...
--I keep a list of the foods I love that have mysteriously been taken off the market as if its evidence of some kind of conspiracy against me, along with a lot of other odd lists that point to my curious narcissism about my place in the world
--I am more intimidating on paper than in real life
--I like to think I'm smart, but they tell me it's just a defense mechanism..
--I enjoy taking life seriously, because otherwise, what would be the point? If there's anything you should take seriously, it's your life. You only get one.
--I hate jewelry in all forms, I don't even have my ears pierced, which weirds people out for some reason and then in turn weirds me out at them for being weirded out. why is this a big deal? .
--I cannot understand a person who has a favorite sports team and involves the word "loyal" when discussing them
. --I enjoy becoming invisible as I observe those around me
--I am extremely loyal...
--I dislike when people use the phrase "live a little" when refering to trying new food...
--I usually do more listening than talking despite what this long list may suggest...
--I wish I knew how to present my opinions in order to spark conversation instead of defenses or blank stares...
--I wish I would someday follow my own advice

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

--an alien....

--People who notice people that go out of their way not to be noticed...

--Someone to discuss the intricacies of film editing theory with

--Creative types who believe that WHAT they are trying to express is more important than the fact that THEY are expressing it

--Anyone whose behavior doesn't revolve around being lusted after and envied.

Only the Rich Can Afford an Existential Crisis

It's been said that money doesn't buy happiness. Or there are just as many depressed rich people as poor. Or even that there are MORE depressed rich people than poor. (Although I would propose the ...
