Norman Lamont releases his 2008 album Roadblock on November 5th 2008. A darker set of songs than on previous releases, with themes of mortality and loss, it still has room for some wry humour.A leading light in the Edinburgh songwriter scene, Norman Lamont has a wealth of slightly skew-wiff songs ranging from wordy epics like The Ballad of Bob Dylan and The Wolf Who Snared the Moon to simple statements like Crying in the Street and If You Had Said. He's put out four CDs in the last few years under his own name, and gigged with his acoustic band The Innocents, as well as playing bass with friends theG.co.uk and The Houdini Box, and guitar with Gravy Spiders. He also plays under the name WaveForms ambient looping guitar and guitar synth inspired by Fripp & Eno. His songs and music have featured in two films, Godot (made in the USA) and Ferry Forth (made in Edinburgh).
