Yum, it's time to change things up a bit.
Good Day my fellow Myspacers.
Hoping all is well in your world.
So, I'm just a down home Kentucky gal, though quite a bit out of the ordinary. The past 27 years I have seen much of the state. I lived in Lexington for most of my life, moved south to Madison county for a good chunk, and now I'm out in the western part of the state learning about and meeting amazing folk there. My family has spent generations in Estill County, and so, even though I have never lived there, this little sacred spot is near and dear to my heart.
The past year or so has seen many ups and downs. I graduated from my latest venture in education and began my career as a massage therapist. This career is the most rewarding and amazing job, and I feel extremely blessed to have found my passion so early in life. I am currently trained in swedish massage and hot stone therapy. My goals are to become certified in cranial sacral therapy and geriatrics. I would eventually like to specialize in working with stroke survivors and ideally would like to work in nursing homes and assisted living communities. Until then, I'm enjoying my time working with the public at large, learning and honing my skills, and growing as a therapist. It truly is my passion and favorite thing about life!
The past year I also saw a divorce, lived off the grid for a great deal as a tenant farmer working mostly with poultry and goats, and enjoying life in a new part of Kentucky...Shelbyville. While healing from life after marriage, and living in poverty, I have grown into a gal ready to stand on her own two feet and support herself.
This month I am making a huge life transition. I am moving into my very first apartment. It's not my first apartment per say...but the first time I will be living completely on my own. It's by far a struggle...trying to get situated leaves me wondering how I am going to buy food and paying the bills. I have learned through all my experiences though that no matter what, the Universe has always supported me and I have a strong faith that it will continue to do so. I am blessed to have made many beautiful friends in my new home, and look forward to building deep bonds and relationships with those souls who are now part of my new family.
So, those are the big things in my life. Some of the smaller things...I'm a gal who has killed her tv. The whole digital revolution doesn't affect me because I don't own a tv. I also pretty much gave up on the internet...I can use it at the library if need be. Life off the grid made me happy, and so I like to be as far away from technology as possible these days. I have a not so secret desire to live in a tipi, and a crazy obsession about unicorns. One of my short term goals is to become a beekeeper. Hopefully I'll get into that one this year.
