Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Saray Barbosa moved to New York at the age of 12 becoming immersed in one of the fashion strongholds, Manhattan. She attended Fashion Industries High School, producing six gowns for the schools fashion show. Her deep understanding of the fashion and photography fields landed her first picture in Photo Marketing magazine in July 2001. She furthered her education by attending Miami International University of Art and Design. Her superb networking skills allowed her to her to style “A-List” celebrities, such as Julian Gill for Ego magazine, Maritza Bustamante for Mira magazine and music videos such as hip hop artist Pitbull “Go Girl” feat Trina and “Secret Admirer” feat Lloyd.Saray Barbosa has created gowns for personal clients including destination weddings and styled Jennifer Nicole Lee’s Fabulously Fit Mom, a six DVD series. Her gowns have been debuted at Miami Fashion Week opening the doors to creating designs for various companies. In 2005 she provided the photography and styled the outfits for Couture Active Wear redefining the company’s image. The photos were later shown in Dynamix magazine. Her bold and sexy styles, accented with outstanding, individualistic details led her to create her own personal line ticketed Saray Barbosa.She continues to intern for JonValdi Couture gaining extensive knowledge in making evening and cocktail dresses, bead work, and show room presentation.
