Lil Roc

Born February 3rd, 1983 in Stuttgart, Germany to Theresa Thomas, Lil Roc was destined for Hip Hop glory. Being the son of military officer, Lil Roc was raised by his grandmother early on, while his mother completed her tour of duty. Growing up in the desolate streets of Arkansas, Lil Roc was afforded the opportunity to see heinous crimes and vicious characters on an almost daily basis. In an effort to protect himself and younger brothers (Ramon Mon, Now 19, Ryan, 17 and Rico, 14) from the perils of the street, Lil Roc formed an affiliation with one of the most pronounced and still villified street gangs of the time. Due to misbehavior and constant run-ins with the law Lil Rocs mother was left with no other alternative than to place him in the Arkansas Youth Challenge at the age of 18, a pseudo-Boot Camp, in an attempt to modify his outlook on life. After successfully completing the program, Lil Roc and his family moved to Columbus, OH, due to better job opportunities and the added bonus of pulling away from some of the harsher elements of Arkansas. Upon arrival in Ohio, Lil Roc was faced with the peculiar challenge of deciding on what he wanted to do with his life. Having long been an M.C., a decision had to be made as to whether or not he would pursue his long standing aspirations of being a rap star or revert back to his profession of drug sales and supply. Encouraged to do music by his peers and family, Lil Roc finally chose to embrace his lyrical blessing only to become one of the most talked about and revered underground artists of our time.
