I'm a singer, songwriter, audio engineer, sound designer and music producer. I'm the lead singer of a band called vandelay (see friends space). I also sing in an acoustic duo called Pasty Playas. Recently, I've been singing backups for Prince protege, former NPG member and soon-to-be superstar, Kip Blackshire.
Clearly, I'm into music. I love to cook. I also love movies and pro football.

Other than my major musical influences (see "vandelay" page), I'm also a huge fan of Bob Marley, Incubus, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, The Doors, James Brown, G. Love and Special Sauce and Jeff Buckley. I also love The Beatles, Tom Petty, The Roots, Jack Johnson, A3, Guster, all kinds of hip-hop, trip-hop (especially Portishead and Lovage), soul, r n' b, blues, and too many others to mention.
Scarface, The Godfather 1 and 2, Patton, Memento, Kevin Smith films, P.T. Anderson films, the original Star Wars movies, Almost Famous, American Beauty, old James Bond movies, House of 1,000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, The Doors, This Is Spinal Tap, Waiting For Guffman, Office Space, Braveheart, Tarantino films, Goodfellas, Snatch, Fight Club, Monty Python's Search For The Holy Grail, The Matrix 1 and 2, Caddyshack, Team America...shit, I could go on forever. Basically, I love gangster films, truly scary or disturbing horrors, sophomoric and/or dry comedies, and anything clever or deep that isn't too esoteric. I mean, I love movies, but I just want to escape. I use my music to deal with the difficult areas of my life.
South Park, Family Guy, Seinfeld, Desperate Housewives (yeah, I know), Nip/Tuck, The Sopranos, Sportscenter, Pro Football, some college football (Wisconsin Badgers, Penn State and Mississippi State), Pimp My Ride, Chappelle's Show. I do like a few reality shows. Fear Factor, Rock Star, those Road Rules/Real World challenges and of course, American Idol (c'mon, give me a break! I'm a singer!).
I recently read Songwriters On Songwriting. It's a fascinating look into the minds of some of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. One of my favorite series' of books is The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. I'm also into Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, Lullaby, Choke, etc.). I usually have at least two books going at once. I often alternate between fiction and non-fiction. I like to feed my intellect as well as my imagination.
I know it may sound corny, but honestly my heroes are my father, Ken, my mother, Emily and my brother, Ben. I love and admire my family more than anyone or anything in this world.
