With a marked reverence for classic soul, electronic funk, and experimental jazz, Sweet Abraham's approach is offered as tribute to a fusion of the past, present and future. Reared on an eclectic blend of sounds, Abraham continues to serve up a melancholic stew of bitter progressions, sweet melodies, and intricate rhythms all in a deep house sauce of crunchy funk.First appearing in 1996 on London’s pre-eminent deep house label Defender’s ‘It’s a DJ Thing’ series, Abraham soon delivered his first album for Defender’s Nitedance imprint. Lauded as a sincere and uniquely raw sound that challenged the four-to-the-floor paradigm, subsequent projects for Chicago’s deep4life and London's Diaspora Recordings provided experimental outlets where the sound was further shaped. Beyond the exploratory shapes of his original compositions, Abe's remixes for Alma Horton, Rich Medina, Arnold Jarvis and the Rhythm Slaves continue to demonstrate his ability to deliver an appropriate mood within his own sonic language.He currently holds down the A&R spot for Diaspora...
