About Me
Check this out from the nice people at Bugbear:
THE GRAVE ARCHITECTS- We all fell over in amazement on first hearing this incredible new act- and I was actually already reclined so dunno how that occurred. I think I actually stood up in a falling down way. Any rate , the offbeat humour of a Jonathon Richman, the kookiness of early Pavement, the tunefulness of Loaded era Velvets , yet very English and eccentric ….The ghost of Syd Barret’s also in the house, there's psychedelic passages with kind of posh rapping over the top. Which bizarrely sounds a bit like Caravan in places! So this is really quite interesting, but more importantly great fun! Their opus about bikes [er, 'Bike'] is kind of Queen by The Monks via De La Soul. A single out on Fortuna Pop. Buy/steal/blag- but see them play now!
Hello friends
So where were we?
Ah yes! we had a single coming out didn't we? Hence those two gigs we played at the end of March (thank so much to anyone who attended either, two of my favourite Grave Architects gigs that we ever did play). So where's the single then I hear you ask? To cut a long story short we are the latest band to become victims of the credit crunch and the company Fortuna POP! used to manufacture the single has gone bust. On the more positive side, Fortuna POP! managed to get their money back and the single WILL come out but we're not going to set a date of release until we actually have the singles in our actual hands.
AND - the album is finished! We're just shopping it round trying to find the right home for an LP that we are insanely proud of. Plus we got gigs coming up in July, watch this space!
Love Matt x

Born in Nottingham, and with a broken heart, The Grave Architects have since gone on to become seasoned hands at the pulling heart strings out, stretching them once around the funny bone and plucking them to the wet crash of tiny tears.
A double A-sided single featuring "Highway be True" and "Love TBC" is due out on 7" single in 2009 on Fortuna POP! with an album to follow soon after.
