Pretense of Significance

About Me

Everything happens for a reason, and we were meant to learn from all things. Willpower is the most potent force in existence...it shapes reality. Willpower makes love work, and love is an element of human nature that will never die.I have a B.S. in Psychology (from the University of Southern Mississippi), and I work at South Mississippi State Hospital. Currently my makeshift home is an apartment in Hattiesburg.I don't believe that there is any sense in regret. I believe that whatever happens in life, happens for a reason. If you regret that it ever happened, then you are just dooming yourself to live through that event again and again until you learn what you were meant to learn from it, and subsequently accept what has come to pass.We are controlled by fate, destiny, and choice at the same time. I think that there are many paths in life, each with its own multitude of trails stemming from it. We are placed on a path, by destiny, and fate throws us certain situations and events. Depending on how we react to said occurrances, we are placed on a specific trail of that path. Our paths sometimes cause us to meet with others throughout life, but our walk is our own. So many souls exist, as well as so many trails. Each person's travel on the path of life is different...they see different sights than other people see, they take different trails than others do, and so on. This philosophy, I suppose, could be akin to the combination of "The Road Less Travelled," and a choose-your-own-adventure book, where each chapter ends with a choice that you are to make, and each choice has a corresponding page for you to turn to in order to continue with the story.I believe in the proverb "live and learn," but I think it more appropriate to add another segment: "die and teach." As life is one big learning experience, you live life as a student of the world, and when you die, your existence and experiences outlast you as life lessons to those who follow; you become an instructor of the world. Live and learn, die and teach. There is a bit of truth that can be gleaned from anything...if you know how to find it.
