Playing music, shooting guns, arguing about almost anything, drunk photography, arm-wrestling girls, skepticism, libertarianism, watching movies in the theater, too much eyeliner; any combination of the above.
Einstein. Archimedes. Thomas Jefferson.
Playing: Anything girls will dance to.
Listening: I have weak spots for four-on-the-floor techno, bubblegum pop, and country. Plus I like a lot of other stuff. Although I like a good variety, I definitely hate some music, probably stuff you like. "Heartbreaker" is the best Led Zeppelin song. I should confess that I like Canadian music: Leonard Cohen, Tom Cochrane, Bruce Cockburn, Shania Twain.
Writing: Stupid melodically-deficient songs no one likes. Love songs to Redding.
Josie and the Pussycats (Yes, I'm serious, and if you don't like it <[i>whispers into cuff: smells like teen spirit], I'd really love a chance to hear your opinion <[i>van pulls up, opens up, drags you off to be b-modded] about movies and culture.)
The Terminator (The original; the sequel is cutesy where the original is inspiring; also you have to love anything that uses Ellison as source material, even if he did have to sue them to get credit.)
The Fisher King (Heartbreaking, and makes me like Ethel Merman just a little.)
Both Spider-Mans and both X-Mens (Everything I learned about right and wrong, I learned from Marvel comic books and science fiction. Normal people in extraordinary circumstances. No flawless heroes - sorry, Superman and Jesus, Peter Parker has more to teach us about the flawed, messy, human condition than you, because he is one of us.)
The Matrix (Just the first one, they should have stopped there. Holy crap, my jaw dropped when I first saw it, it was so beautiful. I love violent ballet.)
Jackie Chan flicks (It's all about the violent ballet. I don't care about the plot any more in these than I do in a porn flick.)
Mystery Men.
Men At Work.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Anything by Harlan Ellison. Neal Stephenson. Short stories. Anything that is NOT Part 7 of a 23-part cycle of novels.
Spider-Man.
