The Motherless Children

A one-man pop factory birthed in the rugged mountains of central New Hampshire during the summer of 2005. In September of that year, the Motherless Children found themselves accompanying the sounds of the coqui frogs outside of Studio Brau, conveniently located in stiflingly humid San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following up on this Latin theme, the Children relocated to Lima, Peru, and set about putting together a full live band. A lawyer, a graphic designer, a translator and a painter by day, they join forces after hours to bring a psych-pop touch to Lima's famous night life. They are currently playing out in fine establishments throughout the city with other members of the Peruvian independent music scene, as well as finally readying the Wicked River EP, recorded in San Juan, to be released through Basto Discos in Peru and Trademark Recordings in cyberspace. Lest they be accused of resting on what laurels they may have, they are also well on their way to writing another album's worth of new songs, this time with the whole band. Una fábrica unipersonal de canciones pop nació en las accidentadas montañas del estado de New Hampshire durante el verano del 2005. En septiembre de ese año, The Motherless Children (Los Niños sin Madre o Los Niños Huérfanos) se vieron rodeados por el sonido de las ranas coqui que venían de fuera del Estudio Brau, convenientemente ubicado entre la humedad agobiante en San Juan de Puerto Rico. Continuando con el tema latino, los Children se reubicaron en Lima - Peru, donde se juntaron un grupo completo para tocar en vivo. Son un abogado, un diseñador gráfico, un traductor y un pintor de día, pero de noche se unen para dar un toque de pop sicodélico a la famosa vida nocturna limeña. Actualmente están tocando en los locales finos de la ciudad juntos con otras bandas de la escena de música independiente peruana, tal como preparando el lanzamiento del Wicked River EP, lo cual se grabó en San Juan y se sacará por Basto Discos en Perú y Trademark Recordings en ciberespacio.
