I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a mother, first and foremost. I have two lovely daughters aged 23 and 19. I am not presently married. I have two cats, Pumpkin and Gatsby, 2 guinea pigs and a few fish in a 5 gallon tank.I am a teacher. I know the innermost secrets of 41 four year olds! I also know that not everything they say really happened. Their obvious pleasure in learning is what keeps me going to work each day. They give me unconditional love and affection. They fill my day with laughter. My taste in music is ecclectic. I like music from the 60's and 70's, folk and blues with a little bluegrass and jazz thrown in, as well as a lot of the music that my girls listen to. I love going to live concerts and folk festivals. I prefer to hear music in an intimate atmosphere, so no huge venues for me.The seashore is very special to me and I need a fix at least once a year. My two favourite beaches are on the north shore of PEI and the Gulf coast of Florida. At home in Ontario, you will find me getting my fix at Turkey Point, a lovely, long beach along Lake Erie.I love to visit and explore new places. The geysers of Yellowstone National Park are fascinating (and stinky!). The tides of Fundy, the rocky cliffs of Grand Mannan Island, the mountains of the west coast and their hot springs, the hoodoos of Dinousar Provincial park and the fog and hanging fjords of Gros Morne National Park.... I have seen and experienced them all.I enjoy taking and editing photos, long walks in the woods, paddling a canoe through the wilderness, a good book and people watching. I like listening to the CBC. I am constantly learning new things through readings, the internet, public radio, television and lectures.I collect things...antique double egg cups, rocks, shells, pottery. I love the colours of fall, stone houses, beautiful gardens and relaxing by a fire. My favourite colour is yellow. I am a bit of a packrat and cleaning my house is not a high priority, so you will find some cobwebs here and there and piles of things on various flat surfaces.I enjoy time alone and being with good friends and my family.
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !
