Every now and then a band surfaces that just sort of stands out (and not because its members sport rubber face masks or hang themselves from rafters above the stage). Like many artists before them, Freeway People have allowed their faith to give them the necessary drive in order to succeed as a band.
Formed almost six years ago in Pasadena, California, what began as a group of young music-lovers has now evolved into a rock band that has a loyal fan base. Members Michael, Eddie , George and John have definitely had more than their share of experience. With an impressive roster of venues and co-headliners, Freeway People have performed at venues such as the Roxy, Whisky-a-go-go, Troubadour, Henry Fonda Theatre and the Ventura Theatre. The band has also been fortunate enough to share the stage with the Atari’s, Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains, Apex Theory, Cool Hand Luke, Trapt, The Bled, and Sinai Beach, to name a few.The band also has two full-length albums under their belts, with a third one on the way. With My Sword Ready, released in 2004, exemplifies the raw energy of the band’s earlier work. Dear God, released in 2006, is more representative of where the band is now-confident and ready to take on the masses. Both albums have been recorded and produced at Left Hand Recording Studios by the band members themselves.Evidently, the band’s unbreakable faith is what keeps them together. Though it is unclear what lies ahead for these four musicians, one thing is clear: nothing will stop them from continuing to climb the ladder towards success.

Nothing New
Here I am on my knees again
And I don't know where I will end;
It's the same old me
With the same story;
I know You're staring
But my eyes can't tell;
Over and over I keep falling over
Living this life for everyone but You;
This is nothing new.
Take You in
Where do I begin?
You had nails
While I have pins.
God I know You're there
Sometimes I don't care;
Please don't let me fall
Through Your hands.

Take Me Over
Well I'm looking through the eyes;
what seems like yesterday.
Giving reasons,
oh my reasons for the games I play.
Now I run by myself in this machine we've made.
Holding on to the ways of this world.
As I fall down, I hear sounds. Am I alone?
And I'm yelling "trust" to all,
but I can't do the same.
It's my body,
oh my body I wish I could tame.
I have the keys to the door of the truth and way.
But I'm still here holding on to this world.
Take me over,
I don't care.
I'm here,
it's over.
The sun,
it stares on my blistering body.
Blood I wear;
holding on to the ways of this world.
