Creative Soul

When you follow your bliss... doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors.

About Me

I face the tempest with courage and conviction yelling at the top of my lungs, "Here I am, here I am. I shall not fear you for I want to LIVE!" At the end of my days I will know that I lived a life worth living, the Concourse on High will greet me with song and I shall rejoice!

I am a Bahá'i. I celebrate diversity and I'm fascinated by science and spirituality. I am open honest and have no fear of being vulnerable. There is strength in vulnerability and one can't be any more unabashedly honest than to be so. PI followed my bliss and it lead me to my soul love, Tawanda. You have my heart and I will be yours forever. Look To This Day For it is Life, the very Life of Life. In Its brief course lie all the Verities and Realities of your existence; The Bliss of Growth; The Glory of Action; The Splendor of Beauty; For Yesterday is but a Dream, And tomorrow is only a Vision: But Today well lived makes every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness, and Every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope. Look well, therefore, to This Day! -From the Sanskrit

"God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is in the silence of a mother who has infected her child with a virus that will end both their lives. God is in the cries heard under the rubble of war. God is in the debris of wasted opportunity and lives, and God is with us if we are with them."
-From the speech Bono gave at the 2006 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC
Rainier Maria Rilke
Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart. And try to love the questions themselves. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now because you would not be able to live them. The point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way to the answer. Ignorant before the heavens of my life, I stand and gaze in wonder. Oh the vastness of the stars. Their rising and descent. How still. As if I didn't exist. Do I have any share in this? Have I somehow dispensed with their pure effect? Does my blood's ebb and flow change with their changes? Let me put aside every desire, every relationship except this one, so that my heart grows used to its farthest spaces. Better that it live fully aware, in the terror of its stars, than as if protected, soothed by what is near. ___________________________

My Interests

I love nature, I love movies, I love intelligent conversation. Art. Photography. Writting.

I'd like to meet:

Interesting, creative people who love life and have a keen sense of humor. Photographers and other artists and creatives. People who are excited about creating an extraordinary life for themselves. People with passion and integrity. People who strive to be more than they are.

Music:

Rock, classic rock, oldies, 80's music, jazz, blues, classical, Latin, world music, R&B, some hip-hop.

Movies:

The Astronaut Farmer, Children of Man is one of the most amazing films I've ever seen! Casablanca, The Secret, Now Voyager, An Ameircan in Paris, Singing in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Contact, The Matrix, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, most Star Trek films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, I Heart Huckabees, Frida, Lost in Translation, The Station Agent, Sideways, American Splendor, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Tears of the Sun, Die Hard, The Bourne Identity/Supremacy, Amelie, Trainspotting, Dances With Wolves, Monsoon Wedding, Lagaan. I love stories of people who find the hero within and triumph over adversity.

Television:

The new Battlestar Galactica has far more gravitas than any of the past Star Trek shows although I still love Star Trek. The History Channel, HGTV and documentaries. I have no time for pseudo-intellectuals who see TV only as the "opiate of the masses" with little redeeming value. That opinion is too close-minded.

Books:

The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. Writing Down the Bones (One of the best books on writing!), It's Not Your Fault: How Healing Relationships Can Change your Brain, Healing The Wounded Soul. I like non-fiction and books about understanding relationships and creating a better life.

Heroes:

Abdul-Baha. Anyone who is overcoming adversity and past trauma. Those who help others see the hero within them. And of course ME!
