I am here for Friends

About Me

Born In Chitown, home grown (organically) in the farmlands of central Illinois. I'm a midwestern prarie girl at heart, but am a bit dislocated now. Went to college in the Pacific Northwest and learned to call it home. That's where my family is... well.. the ones that haven't moved south to California like I did. And by family, I mean the ones who I grew to love at college. I am now currently residing in Sacramento, with a great job that I love, and looking towards the future. I dont see myself staying in the Valley for a long time, but it's a much needed stopping point on my life's path. I'm growing and learning here in ways I would have never imagined. And I'm enjoying life and all that it brings me in the meantime.
"There's more than one way to tell each other things, and there's more than one way to listen, too. And if you've never heard a tree telling you something, then I'd say you don't know how to listen just yet."

Movies:

I love so many movies and they all have impacted me in one way or another, if nothing else, given me a great laugh. Some of my favorites that I own (or want to) are:The Science of Sleep, Mirror Mask, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, The Motorcycle Diaries, Real Women Have Curves, Hero, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2, The Story of the Weeping Camel, A Very Long Engagement, Happy Endings, I Heart Huckabees, Waking Life, Amelie, Harry Potter movies, Lord of the Rings Triligoy, Pride and Predjudice, Finding Neverland, Big Fish, Benny & Joone, Life is Beautiful, Goodbye Lenin, Napeoleon Dynamite... etc. I love and own too many to name. I love foregin films, tearjerkers, drama's, comedy's and the occasional stupid movie like Dodgeball. The last movie I rented was: In Her Shoes, the last movie i saw in the theatre was: Pan's Labyrinth.

Television:

My favorite shows on TV now are Grey's Anatomy and House. I am also a not-so-closeted Buffy the Vampire Slayer lover.

Books:

I love books! I tend to buy tons of them, but never have time to read them. But i love how they feel in my hands, and how they smell. I'm in a book club (The Sexy Reading Club) with some of my college girlfriends, and I have great exposure to new books that way, and we have awesome discussions. I love my book club. I hope we always continue to read together in some fashion. Just completed: Chosen By a Horse. Currently reading: Animals in Translation, By: Temple Grandin

Heroes:

I don't really think of anyone being my hero, really... But I admire the strength and courage of my mother, and admire what certain people in the world have done for the betterment of others.
