Zane O'neal - BioIn Search of a DreamZane O'neal Pickens was born on September 18, 1984 in Anderson, South Carolina. When Zane was six years old, his mother, Janie Pickens, encoraged him to sing and be involved in as many activities as his older brothers and sisters. Throughout his adolescent life, he denied any singing or acting abilities that he possessed, even though he participated in various small school plays. As the baby of the family, Zane chose to listen to his older brothers and compete in football and basketball, only to please them. Zane ended up juggling around football, basketball, choir and several different kinds of bands his whole middle school experience. When Zane entered high school, he decided to leave sports alone and try marching band for a year. Throughout that year, he fell in love with music, but struggled to find a way to please his brothers with the decision he had made. Through much distress, Zane finally gave up band and played football his sophomore year. After forgetting about band, Zane met the most inspiring person ever: Donna Trout of Belton-Honea Path High School Concert Choir. Somehow Mrs. Trout found out Zane could sing and asked him to audition for a part in the musical; Once Upon a Mattress based on ("The Princess and the Pea"). By impressing the audience and directors with his singing and acting ability, Zane won the lead role as Sir Harry and continued on to participate in many other plays and musicals. Zane had lead roles in the Ten Little Indians (Lead Role - Phillip Lombard), Oliver Twist (Lead Role - Bill Sykes) and The Octette Bridge Club (Photographer). Zane O'neal Pickens has been following his dream to be and actor/singer since he was 16 years old, praying that his dream one day comes true... -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Begin AIM Remote --
