"Art, whether it’s good or bad, has a way of changing how we see the world" -Oscar Wilde Another favorite: “The purpose of art is to sober and quiet the mind†from the composer John Cage. These have always struck a chord with me. Inspiration and expression drive me to write and record music that changes the way we see the world. Music and writing are therapeutic. I strive for absolute honesty in my songs. The lyrics paint a visual world that everyone can relate to. They are full of truth and pain; bitter reality and joy. Inspirations are the Stones, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Radiohead, Beck, Al Green, the Verve/Richard Ashcroft, Richard Buckner, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. I've been working with my own creative process. The goal is to achieve the freedom that allows a musician to purely create whatever it is, that is in them. To get out of the way and just let it flow. It can be a tough place to get to consistently, but I am tireless.
