in general i like to chill to trip hop/mellow house (morcheeba, massive attack, sneaker pimps, lamb, portishead, kruder and dorfmeister, theivery corp, paul oakenfold, moby, tricky, dj krush) sometimes i get agnsty with rage, manson, eminem, L7, bikini kill,kitty, sleeter kinney, (old) hole, system of a down, alice in chains. i love old hip hop : digable planets, de la soul, tribe called quest, beasties, brand new heavies, grand puba, the roots, brand nubian, erik b and rakim, wutang, too short, eazy e, NWA, and old R+B: billie holiday, nina simone, aretha, stevie, al green, rufus and chaka, marvin gaye, prince will always be the man! roberta flack and (not so old) zap mama and erykah badu. i have punk roots that have extended to indie (k rock rules): Op Ivy, the clash, bad religion, social d, mr t experience, DK, descendents, melvins, agnostic front, green day and nirvana (yes they were punk at some point) primus, rancid, fugazi, to the emo side: weezer, shins, earlimart, flaming lips, goldfrapp, keane, snow patrol, creeper lagoon, built to spill. la femme nikita (the real french original--not dubbed), eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, fight club, brazil, heathers, abre los ojos/vanilla sky, clerks, love & a .45, dangerous liasons, breakfast club, momento, fifth element, american history x, wild at heart, blue velvet. documentaries about cool shit. anything by jeunet (city of lost children, amelie), anything by jarmusch (ghost dog, dead man), tarantino for kicks (true romance rules) , monty python for laughs, almodovar to get twisted. lord of the rings, jet li, bruce lee and old jackie chan movies. real horror (28 days later, nightmare on elm st, the ring) ill watch anything with angelina jolie in it, even if its awful and same for viggo mortgenson.

i majored in english so of course i read lofty material..sci/fi! ursula k. le guin, philip k. dick,william gibson, dan simmons,octavia butler, charles de lint, tanith lee, asimov, neil gaiman, tanith lee, storm constantine,jaqueline carrey, stephen king (gunslinger rules). i guess ive read some other stuff too...kafka, toni morrison, nietchze, camus, nin, allende, shakespeare,angelou neruda and rilke off the top of my head. faulkner, tom robbins, vonnegut. alice walker stole my heart and palahniuk smashed it to bits. I also like spiritual/new agey shit if its not too mamby-pamby, or actually makes me learn about life and myself: paulo coehlo, castaneda, HH, myss, weber, pema chodron, thich nat hahn.
