I dig late 70..s "Killed By Death" styled Punkrock to 80..s Hardcore/Punk stuff the most - I like the energy (& sometimes the pure dementia!). Most of this stuff can..t be beaten by todays bands imho, they all lack the power these bands had! This doesn..t mean I "hate" everything..s that..s "new" - I listen to a lot of stuff, ok?I like a lot of these 60..s Comps. like "Back from the grave" or "Teenage Shutdown", too - this is extremely good! Basicly, anythings that sounds heavily distorted & has a singer that screams his head OFF!!! & comes out of a garage is just fine with me.
3 Words: Too fucking many!!! "Wild at heart" by David Lynch and "Vertigo" by Alfred Hitchcock are two of my alltime favourites, but there..s just too many good movies to be seen or that I like. 50..s "Film Noir" movies are a blast! Russ Meyer..s films are pure genius! I..m a sucker for almost anything called "Trash", "B", "Schlock", "Camp", "Exploitation" etc. - this stuff beats most of the multi million $ Hollywood stuff imho. Watch "Coffy", "Foxy Brown", "Polyester", "Mad Foxes", "Last house on the left" etc. etc. .
Twin Peaks, Twin Peaks, Twin Peaks
I read a lot of James Ellroy novels, if you like crime or "hard boiled" stuff set in the 50..s - this is great! I like the atmosphere, double crossing, femme fatale, crime etc. stuff very much. My personal bible is the "Answer Me!" book (plus issue . 4) - sure it..s "controversial" & it has stuff in it to piss anybody off in no time, but: damn this is funny and witty as hell, too. I read the stuff from cover to cover and started then again to read it over and over again. I think it..s the best thing ever written in the 90..s and it hasn..t been beaten in contents and writing skills until today.
