Eightie's punk-rock kid aging gracelessly, worshipping the pioneers, but not ashamed of blowing bubblegum like a schoolgirl occasionally...JOHNNY CASH, all three hank williams(es), ELVIS, link wray & the wraymen, chuck berry, ? & the mysterian, tommy james & the shondells, del shannon (married in my grandparents backyard), jerry lee lewis, little richard, buddy holly & the crickets, mitch ryder & the detroit wheels, velvet underground, MOTOR CITY FIVE [KICK OUT THE JAMS, MOTHERF_CKERS!!!], stooges, neil young & crazy horse, neil diamond, buck owens, dick dale/ventures, robert johnson, JAMES MOTHERF_CKING BROWN, coltrane/bird/miles/o.coleman, black sabbath, grateful dead (w/pig pen), the band, the who, emmylou harris, temptations, the parlaiments (pre-cursor to that parlaifunkadelicment thang), rolling stones, beatles, new york dolls, david bowie/ziggy stardust/aladdin sane, tyrannasaurus rex, alice cooper, ted "duck" nugent's amboy dukes, lou reed, ramones, kiss, destroy all monsters, dictators, gram parsons......damn my fingers are tired and i'm even through 1970! that gives you a snapshot; i'll have to finish later...

big lebowski; caddyshack; soooooooooo many damn others that i just don't have the energy to type out now...

Television:

the shield, the daily show, about 1/2 the stuff on the history channel, & about 1/10 of pbs' programming; the rest of television is utter sh_te...

Books:

fear & loathing in las vegas; fear & loathing on the campaign trail; just about anything hst wrote prior to 1977; a history of rome; the bible (greatest literary achievement of all time); epic of gilgamesh; odyssey; iliad; works of sophecles; greek/roman mythology; the republic; gulliver's travels; wealth of nations (hail to adam smith: world's greatest populist! remember, whenever big business appeals for "free trade", they don't want it!); tom sawyer; marx/engel reader (exposes communism as the lie that its power-hungry purveyours intended); eden express; one flew over the cuckoo's nest;...geez! i can barely scratch the surface....

Heroes:

any person who sacrifices his life, liberty, health, and/or happiness for the betterment or welfare of others (lord knows who they are, even if i know of very few myself); i have other "pop culture" heroes as well, but those are for fun and discussion...few of them are true heroes...
