About Me

Compassionate unless crossed, cautiously generous, dedicated, empathetic.
Some people know me as the outgoing RD that always stays positive even when times are down n out. Interestingly enough, I am now the President for the California Dietetic Association - Los Angeles District. This next year is going to be quite an interesting ride!
Others know me as the quiet, introvert who is always willing to lend a listening ear to their thoughts/concerns/news in times of happiness and/or grief.
I'm just me, still the same Ed that I've always been.
On the side, I'm the Los Angeles Correspondent for the Notorious San Diego Filipino Internet Radio Show, the GO GUYS SHOW found at http://www.goguysshow.com. These guys are a blast to work with esp. when we go out to do interviews at local venues or just hanging out for yummy food. Definitely a benefit when wanting to meet up with the coolest alternative bands in California. I have no complaints.Layout made by the_legend at CreateBlog.com .

My Interests

Final Fantasy Series - collect all kinds of paraphernalia but mostly action figures and the actual games. Strategy/puzzle/RPG/adventure games.

I've also started getting back into the anime scene and considered sketching again. I've been getting fan subbed versions of Naruto, Bleach and Konjiki no Gash Bell on a regular basis. (By a fluke my last dl'd batch of Gash Bell was all RAW! I've been practicing my anime/subbed-taught Japanese and I'm doing... ok... understanding it) I'm starting to watch Blood+, Ergo Proxy, Fate Stay Night, Gunbuster 2, Kiba Makai Senki Disgaea, School Rumble and Witchblade.
Animes I couldnt get myself to continue watching after the first couple of episodes include: Beck, Honey and Clover, Monster, Simoun.
This past two years I've watched and finished (at least til what's been out) Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel,) Cosmopolitan Prayers, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, GTO, GTO Live Action Series, H2 Live Action, Ichigo 100%, Jubei Chan 1 & 2, Konjiki no Gash Bell, Mahou Shojotai, My Hime, Girls Bravo (1st season,) Whistle, Raimuiro Senkitan, Read or Dream, REC, Samurai 7, Gunslinger Girl, Samurai Champloo, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Shuffle, Strawberry Panic, Trinity Blood, Tenjo Tenge, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, Full Metal Panic, and Grenadier.

Also, trying out new restaurants and visiting all the oldies/favorites. FOOD! Ahhh yeah! I also experiment with making up my own recipes. check out my bloggie for some of my vegan or vegetarian friendly ones.

I've been pot gardening for roughly a year and a half now... ok that sounds -wrong- ... I'm talking about growing tropical plants in plastic pot containers? Sound better? I hope so. Plants I'm growing now are gloriosa lilies, tuberoses, stephanotis (hawaiian wedding flower), bromolaides, banana trees, one agave, orchids (ondontoglossums are the kinds i got.. at least i think that's the name!), also several others that I still havent identified!

I'd like to meet:

People I haven't seen in a while and wouldn't mind reconnecting with again.

Music:

Finally got an Ipod so... It has been an array of the following: Filipino Rock bands like Julie Plug, Mango Pirates and Pedro Gil. Hawaiian music - Keahiwai, Na Leo, etc. Pizzicato 5. Bossa Nova, jazz and Final Fantasy OST, orchestrated Final Fantasy/Zelda songs and other anime OST/theme music. 50's and 60's music - sometimes.

Movies:

Comet, Butterfly and Sword. Kill Bill. Fight Club. Bride with White Hair. Six-String Samurai.

Television:

I primarily watch Anime - Bleach, Blood+, Naruto, NANA, Ourah High School Host Club... I guess that's more of an internet thing cause its in Japanese. *shrug*
When I have a chance, I'll try to catch evening TV like CSI, Monk, Psych, Good Eats, Soprano's, 24, Lost, Project Runway, Top Chef, Beauty and the Geek and L-Word. Oh well... I know TV isnt so great for the mind but...I'm hooked on my shows!

Books:

Currently reading "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" by Lisa See. Just finished the "Da Vinci Code" by Dan Brown = "Memoirs of a Geisha" by Arthur Golden = "Crucial Conversations : Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High" by Kerry Patterson, et al.
The following have been all started but not finished due to video game interuptions and catching up on Thank You card bouts of writing... "Feng Shui: Mind & Body, Spirit & Home" by Gill Hale and Mark Evans, "You: the User's Manual" and will be revising "Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal" by Eric Schlosser.
