I kick ass for the lord

About Me

I love animals, nature and almost every kind of weather. I miss living in San Francisco, but don't miss living in NYC except for Tony's Sushi on 39th and 2nd which I firmly believe is the best Sushi joint in the city.

I'm an Artist and digital handyman. Check out my wares at www.persistentvisions.com

I study Karate and am constantly amazed at the depth of the art and the spirit of will I have to muster to continue to improve both my techniques and understanding. Its an amazing pursuit and like many people I've met, I wish I had begun my training earlier. At 31 the body's recovery time and stamina just isn't the same as at 18. That being said I'm damn proud of the effort I put into my training and my growth.

I have a 4 legged roomate named Teddy who is amazingly chill, yet barks at anyone new the first time he meets them while wagging his tail and circling them. Weird and perhaps a little scarry to people who don't get dogs.

My Interests

Movies, Museums, Art, Photog, Animation, hiking, road trips, getting lost, exploring side streets, coffee breaks, running through the woods in october, stairing at the full moon, late night walks, watching the sun come up, sleeping late, Irish Breakfast (wait, is that an interest?), traveling and experiencing new things in general.

I'd like to meet:

Chill people in the Valley. J.K. Rowling so I could milk her for an advanced copy of "The Deathly Hallows". Bill Clinton most definitely.

Music:

I have a thing for traditional and folk music. + Jethro Tull, Led Zeplin, Floyd, Pearl Jam, Nickel Creek,

Movies:

Top Ten: Pulp Fiction, Vertigo, Eyes Wide Shut, Magnolia, The Dark Crystal, North by Northwest, 2001: A Space Oddessey, Clash of the Titans, JFK, The Empire Strikes Back.
And....National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Old School, Wedding Crashers, Evil Dead 1,2,3, Shaun of the Dead, Fletch!, Tommy Boy
New Picks: Brick,
Favorite quotes: "I kick ass for the Lord." Dead Alive;
"Shop smart, shop S-Mart" Evil Dead: Army of Darkness;
"You shut up when I'm talking to you" Wedding Crashers;
"And when am I supposed to kiss her? Do I have to wait for the door cause then it's awkward, it's like well goodnight. Do you do like that ass-out hug? Where you like, you hug each other like this and your ass sticks out cause you're trying not to get too close or do you just go right in and kiss them on the lips or don't kiss them at all? It's very difficult trying to read the situation. And all the while you're just really wondering are we gonna get hopped up enough to make some bad decisions? Perhaps play a little game called "just the tip". Just for a second, just to see how it feels. Or, ouch, ouch you're on my hair." Wedding Crashers of course. More to come.

Television:

Lost, Star Trek, Buffy, Knight Rider, Transformers, Invasion, Medium

Books:

'84, Brave New World, Utopia, Herland, V for Vandeta. Harry Potter, LOTR, A Wrinkle in Time, The Hobbit, Eldest/Eragon (series), Obsidian Trilogy, I read about 2 books a week, but most of them are forgettable. Great author = Christopher Moore!

Superbad (4.5 stars) Superbad is Super Good!

This flick is genius and had me laughing my ass off throughout.  Its a pretty straight forward teenage situational comedy revolving around sex, girls, sex with girls, and more of the same.  ...

I'm finally making real strides with honing techniques, but also in starting to understand some of the more pshychological aspects of the training.  That said I also busted my hand pretty good ...

Harry Potter 5 (4.5 stars) long overdue....

Sorry for the delay in getting this out there, but myspace and human error (my own) have colluded to keep these words at bay!  It seems like the last several times I've started an entry, somehow ...

Way funny and very pro-gay.  Hopefully this movie will get widely distributed and help the gay community go one step further towards mainstream acceptance. Sandler and that guy from the King of ...

It Was the Best of Times, It Was the Worst of Times (Belly Dancing in Noho)

When your sister calls and says she can get you in free to a Belly Dancing performance you just don't say no, but maybe I should have... I've got to give props to everyone who performed.  At the...

Fat Man in a LIttle Coat

A 40-something year old fat man riding shotgun in a minivan just passed me and Ted on the street, waving extatically and yelling "Hi Puppy".  Retarded or care-free.  You be the judge.
