Dj Rascall came about in 1998 and was playing in local bars and a couple of smaller clubs. Not content on keeping it just to that he kept hammering his favourite nightclub at the time which was Cutural Vibes @ Zero6 in Southend-On-Sea. This venue was the only club back in those days where UK Garage was being played and the place was one in one out by 10.30 every week. He finally got a response from all his mix tapes when the promoter, John O'Brien (total respect), gave him a phone call and said he had liked what he had been hearing and wanted to book him. With a little help and a couple of shoves with reminding from future boss Paul Rogers and resident Glen Giddens he was up there playing to a full house with a huge response (taking over a 100 mates helped :O) ... John shoke his hand, gave him a wad of cash and asked when can i book you again ?.
With this night in Essex getting so popular other clubs were starting to look at what was going on and soon jumped on the scene. They used to look at Zero6 to see who played there regulary to start to book some dj's and guess who's name came up ... Dj Rascall . From there he started to play at several nights across Essex including his mates Sunday Service @ Ikon and Diva, Basildon which were always over cappacity, and has even run a couple of rooms at different times for Terry Turbo @ Garage Nation.
By this time Rascall had already started to work at Soundzone Records in Basildon form early 1999 and continued to work there till 2003 where he moved abroad to work for his good mate Dj Tastie who owns Matts Bar and several other establishments in Portugal/Algarve. This didnt last to long for certain reasons and came back to start a different career..... Two years down the line and he now owns Soundzone Records with long term girlfriend Jo. The name has also now changed in case you hadnt guessed to Rascalls Records & Audio The business is constantly growing due to taking over which is great with so many great shops closing down. He also had a one off wonder tune called "Tell Me" on his label Rayman Productions and recently had a remix out called "Lover" on Streetz Vol 8. Now everything that Dj Rascall Produces goes up on their download site staticdelight.com for free !!
Unfortunately Rascalls Records felt the very begining of the credit crunch along with internet competition and mp3 downloads and had to shut it doors Febuary 2008... The biggest record shop in Essex ran in the town for over 20 years with 3 different owners and names ... It was a big part of Basildon town and will continue to be a big part of its history ...
Dj Rascall has now teamed up with Dj Tastie and started an Electro House label / brand called Static Delight with the help of Rdubz and Addz1designs. Look out for the first release called "Static EP" which is in all good record stores and our download site right now. Check out our myspace page AND CLICK HERE for more updates and soundclips.
If you have been enjoying making your tunes but dont have the angle of people being able to get hold of your tracks easily so that they can be played out then we would be more than happy to host them for you and push them into the right hands for maximum exposure. Obviously we are a completely free site so there are no charges what so ever. If tracks are accepted by such sites as Juno, DjDownload and the likes of then you will recieve 50% of monies received per each track.
Artist that have been helping us by supporting the tracks past through our hands are the likes of Kenzie (Blazing Squad / Big Brother), Scott "Its A London Thing" Garcia, Bobby B (Lickrish Music), Dj Sparkie (Rhythm Division), JP Fatboy (One of the biggest names of Luminar Leisure), Dj EZ (Kiss FM), Dj Charma (Stereohype Recordings) just name but a few ... I know there are a load more of you guys helping us by playing the tracks but i could be here for ages ;O) ..Big respect to you all....
And obviously on top of that you have Dj Tastie, resident of Matts Bar in Portugal, playing them every night plus every sat on KISS FM Algarve, every week at KISS Club Under our night Static Delight, Kadoc Nightclub every week, Blacks Jacks etc etc ..
