King of Illusions
A short story (work in progress)
The wise aging man sitting upon the throne had seen many battles in his years, even though he rarely had to raise a weapon in combat he was many times the reason all this existed. Sometimes no one had a clue of his powers yet other times whole armies tracked his movements, trying to take his life. He was thankful for the steel that had followed him through his life knowing that many times it had saved is it from prematurely ending. As he watched his servants hurriedly move about the room preparing things for the grand feast that was to take place later in the evening. The servants didn’t seem nervous, they had no reason to be. The man sitting on the throne didn’t rule with an iron fist, he didn’t have to, he wielded powerful magic’s that some say even rivaled that of the gods. He was a kind man anyway, always having the patience to help or explain something even to the lower classes, to him no matter what a mans rank he treated him the same, with respect.

The Dream - Your walking along a mountain pass on a starless night not really knowing why when you notice a small crack in the side of the mountians cliff face. Upon reaching it you see a dim light eminating from the crack, you realize its just big enough to wiggle in with most of your gear on. You drop most of your gear at the entrance and work your way into the crack toward the faint glow. You foot by foot you move deeper and at one point you don't think you can fit but after a minute to relax and a few deep breaths you fit thru. Just as you get to the area where the light is coming from you wake up.
