My latest inter-office email:Once upon a time we had nothing to do. We sat in our cubes daydreaming about being somewhere… anywhere else but where our butts formed permanent indentations in the fabric of our chairs. When all of a sudden, a giant minotaur raged into the office and began turning over cubes like they were made of nothing more than cardboard! The people panicked and screamed for their lives as they bolted to their nearest exits, tugging and shoving to be the first one through the small doors. The minotaur ran toward the mix of people and managed to grab one of the many scrambling innocents. The helpless soul screamed like a little girl as the minotaur reached his thick hairy hand and seized him by the collar of his shirt, throwing him backward onto the floor. The trembling Symetra employee was none other than John Stilley, or as his co-workers called him, “The Sloth.” John knew he was about to die at the hands of the giant beast. The monster moved swiftly to his prey and roared his mouth open as he prepared to tear off the head of poor Mr. Stilley.“Hey, cow-head, why don’t you pick on someone your own size?” bellowed a voice from the smoking aftermath of the minotaur. The minotaur turned and watched as his challenger easily plowed a path through the rubble and debris from the cubes and office furniture, kicking aside computer monitors like they were tennis balls.John looked up to see the rugged outline and chiseled face of Cameron Graves emerge from the smoke. He was saved.
