Hailing from the midlands central city Nottingham Mr SnoWman, AKA Jack Frost, Started music as early as in the womb, with parents in a Punk and Ska band constantly around music and musicians and was rocked to sleep by the sounds of Bob Marley as a baby. As he moved onto school he found early love for music in the viola and piano learning both instruments from the age of 6 continuing to play for the school until he was 12. After secondary school Mr SnoWman moved onto higher education at the Creative institute Confetti School of Recording, and studied a 2 year BTEC in Creative music, and then followed on to do a BSC in Music production and finished at 2.1 level. Mr SnoWman then moved on to teach creative expression to under 18’s at The Stone Soup Project based in Nottingham for around 8 months helping disadvantaged children find a passion for music and video. Whilst employed at Stone Soup SnoWman founded a night Called Abundance which helped push the dubstep scene forward in Nottingham affiliated with other nights such as Misst and Wigflex.
Mr SnoWman then moved onto to further education at Bournemouth Arts Uni to study an intensive Video and animation course. With a fond passion for all things creative Snowman excelled in this field combining his love for music with a visual aspect to represent his sound. Also helped set up a Dub/Dubstep/Reggae night in the south west called Dubnium, which has booked nearly every act in the scene and is still going strong to date.
Aside the education of music, a boost in status came in 2004 with his remix for Lethal B of the forward riddim, which sold over 5000 units and was a massive club banger around the UK. He then moved on to release a remix of Ruff Squad Rapids Pied entitled “what the piper†in 2005 which sold out in 5 weeks. In 2006 Mr SnoWman Released his first independent debut vinyl a two sided ep consisting of “cruncher†and “dissolve†only a limited press and sold out rapidly but got hammered by the big names in the dubstep scene. Currently working on many different projects as well as a solo album consisting of 50 tracks, all diverse and different brandishing the name SNOWSTEP, a crossover sound merging all types of music into one, his love for the analogue valve electronic sound, with grimey beats and bass lines to scare your ancestors.
Mr Snowman is known in the UK for his personal productions and DJ sets, starting out at small venues in and around Nottingham and worked his way up to playing at the infamous Detonate (Best club night 2005-2008), and has DJed alongside/warmed up for many people such as, Papoose, Skream, Rusko, Chef +LD, Marlow, After Dark, and many more. Currently a Resident at Dubnium which is Bournemouth based, Mr SnoWman plays energetic shows often performing live visuals and live builds of tunes to express the wow factor behind his production. Also an SRE (Sidewinder Raw Entertainment) member and resident, at the world renowned Sidewinder which has been consistently promoting successful nights for over a decade. Now with over 8 years Djing skills and 10 years production techniques under his belt alongside many projects in the pipeline with artists such as: Professor Green, P money, Blacks, Dot Rotten, Vadez and many more 2009 looks to be a promising year from this very self motivated achiever.
