Yo What up MySpace? This ya boi Cj, ATX Finest!
I been putting it down since the tender age of 7; I grew up singing in church like most singers. I honed my craft for singing while in the Church of the Living God???s youth choir. I became more interested in music around 14 when I joined the Legendary (ok maybe not legendary, but we were good though..lol), LBJ gospel choir. I took to music well as I come from a gospel background. It was there I was encouraged to further my passion for music. By the age of 16, I was performing in just about every live venue you can name, SXSW, Pecan Street Art Festival, Jam-a-thon, and Summerfest just to name a few. I later fore fronted the R&B quartet Enuf Sayd, an all original group from Austin, TX. That group lasted about two years until we went our separate ways. I formed yet another group, Ryte Hook which didn???t last much longer. For about 2 yrs, I worked on recreating myself as a solo artist. In 2004 I met an awesome producer/friend Adam Whaley www.themop.net, we created some of my best work to date www.themop.net/cj or www.myspace.com/cjiwishaniggawould. He took my words and turned them into a masterpiece of art. I received some success with the EP: ???I wish a playa would??? in retail and radio. It wasn???t long before I came across yet another talented and unique producer/friend, Jason Robinson aka Y2JJ, Phillez Beats Productions, It???s true, ???Yo shit don???t bang unless that P.B.???s on it! We created some instant hood hits ???Leave me alone???, ???Alcohol n Pain Killas???, and ???Just a Man??? effortless classics.
I have grown over the years, my story has changed so, of course has my music. I am currently working on my debut album that will hopefully make more take notice to what I have to offer
