I am a 27-year-old trumpet player who attended Sunset High School in Beaverton, Oregon under the direction of Greg Hall. During this time I received the 'Best Jazz Soloist' award from the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival for 2000.After graduation I received a full scholarship to play at Mt. Hood Community College in the Jazz Lab I Band where I studied for the next three years under the direction of Suzie Jones.I have since accepted a 'half- ride' scholarship to play music at Portland State University. I currently play in the 'Lab 1 Jazz Band' under the direction of Charlie Grey, while finishing my Music Education degree.I have studied with trumpeters Paul Mazzio, Jerry Webster and Dave Mitchell, as well as trombonist Jeff Ussatello. Current instructors include trumpeter Richard Titterington and pianist Darrell Grant.I currently teach at The NW Academy as the beginning band instructor, and I am the trumpet specialist at Westview Highschool.
