Australian born Maurice's entrance to the dance scene happened in 1989 - the age of rave.
In 1990 he started djing at outdoor gigs/raves and at Back2Basics in Leeds alongside the likes of Sasha and Darren Emerson. In 1994, whilst playing at Café Del Mar, Maurice and Darren Emerson decided to set up a night back in England. They called it H20 (an ode to Emersons Underwater imprint) and it launched at The Music Factory in Sheffield.
In 2000, Maurice set up his own night called Union in Leeds, playing alongside Hybrid, Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Lawler, Seb Fontaine and Darren Emerson. His breakthrough in production (a co production with Hybrid's Mike Truman) was Feline, a driving prog-breaks track released on Distinctive Records.
Maurice teamed up with Simon Noble of Breeder fame to collaborate as Maurice & Noble in 2002, kicking off with their massive debut release 'Faith Delivers (Distinctive). Their unique and successful sound has led to many high profile remixes including Tempo Fouk, Dreamcatchers Twisted, the huge Yoshitoshi favourite Morel Cabaret and their seminal remix of Canteens Everyone Else on Breathless Records.
Loaded picked up Maurice & Nobles Hoochie Koochi which became THE summer track of 2003 hammered by everyone from Pete Tong to Deep Dish.
Having now created an armoury of music for various television programmes, advertisements, films and a recent breakthrough into video games as well as his new band, Fuyons (with co writer and friend Stephen Crittall of Martina Topley Bird fame) and underground dance material - 2008 is set to be a big year for Maurice.
